JFC Earth-wood cladding is an investment for the future.
No cladding looks as good or lasts as long.
| Due to Ireland’s geographical location on the edge of the Atlantic and caught between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, the country has a unique climate of being very wet & damp where problems of fungus, mildew and green algae are very common. Ireland’s climate was once described as being one of the most challenging in Western Europe with wind speeds up to two and a half times stronger than neighbouring Northern European countries such as Norway, Sweden and Denmark who have colder, drier and less damp climatic conditions. Similar drier air conditions exist in countries like Canada where there is substantial use of products like Cedar and where the performance of these products are significantly better. In Ireland this damp and penetrating weather reacts with wood products such as Cedar and Larch in a manner which is very different to the markets where these products are known to have exceptional life span in exterior cladding applications. In Ireland it is not uncommon to see unsightly, untreated timber cladding being replaced after only ten years with clear evidence of the impact of our aggressive climate in terms of surface degradation, colour loss, splits, cracks and twisted boards. |
